Pre 1963. Stray Find.
The Norwich Castle Museum holds a "chipped flint" from a "gravel pit" at Spixworth (NWHCM : 1963.20). Information from (S1).
This object had previously been held by the Ipswich Museum (unnumbered) but no other details are recorded.
Although it is listed as Palaeolithic in NCM's records no other sources mention this object suggesting that its date should be regarded as uncertain. It is possibly one of the many dubious "sub-crag" flints that were donated to various museums by J. Reid Moir and others during the early 20th century.
Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 12 May 2014.
