Summary

Three slightly rolled and stained Palaeolithic flint flakes were here during the excavation of foundations in 1956. This site is close to where a Palaeolithic flint handaxe was found in 1964 (NHER 8082).

1956. Stray Find.
Found when digging foundations for May and Baker Chemical Factory on west side of Sweet Briar Road:
3 Palaeolithic flint flakes of Clactonian type, from gravel.
Donated to Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1956.56). Information from (S1).
These finds were first reported in (S2) and are also listed in (S3). They are described on (S4) and (S5) as slightly rolled and stained. Also noted in (S6) and (S7), although no additional information is given.
