Map

1893.
From brickyard (probably north of Middleton's Lane, R.R. Clarke (NCM)).
This seems to be confirmed by press cutting in (S1) that gives findspot as Middeton's Farm Pits.
Flint Neolithic axehead, (S2) rebukes idea that it came from the Norwich Crag.
Also in field next to brickyard, suggested by R.R. Clarke as same brickyard, remains of barrow alleged.
R.R. Clarke (NCM) adds 'flint axe from this field' (presumably refers to above) not flat axe as on A.J. Lawson's (NAU) record card.
Area now built up, no sign on playing field or waste land in this area.
A.J. Lawson (NAU) 17 December 1975.

See (S3), (S4), and (S5).
E. Rose (NAU)
