Summary

In 1952 a prehistoric chipped flint axehead was found at this location. This implement was originally recorded as Neolithic, but was subsequently identified as a Mesolithic tranchet axehead.

Found on east side Middleton's Lane 300yds [274m] east-north-east of Bench Mark 91.7:
1 prehistoric chipped flint axehead. Donated to Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1952.106). Information from (S1). Although originally identified as Neolithic, this implement was later examined by R. Jacobi and recorded in (S2) as a Mesolithic axe/adze with a tranchet blow on one face.
