FINDS IN THE NORWICH CASTLE MUSEUM

The NCM holds a Mesolithic flint blade core from Rackheath. This is part of a collection of objects from various Norfolk parishes donated to the museum by H. F. Thoules in 1933 (NWHCM : 1933.161).
Information from museum records.

The NCM also holds a Neolithic (or later?) prehistoric stone axehead that was found "near Rackheath" . This object was donated to the museum by Major T. H. Russell in 1946 (NWHCM : 1946.87.2). The petrology of this object was examined and identified as ferruginous sandstone (N.13). See (S1). Information from (S2).
