Summary

Mounds, possibly fishponds, have been reported at this approximate location. They may have belonged to Crostwight Priory and are presumably of medieval date. Their existence and interpretation has not been confirmed.

The site described above is obscured by vegetation on most of the consulted aerial photographs. The only feature clearly visible, on (S2) for example, is a large pond located immediately to the northeast of the site. This is depicted on modern Ordnance Survey maps. No features have been mapped by the NMP.
