Summary

A post medieval limekiln, only one wall of which survives. An artifical dyke was cut to the limekiln to provide access for wherry boats.

Former kiln to which lime was brought by wherry, hence name of dyke. Small dyke to actual kiln was artificially cut to provide access. Only 1 wall surviving, of local pink soft brick, very poor condition though owner means to conserve it. In flower bed in garden of Kiln House.
