Summary

At sometime prior to 1974 a number of possible Roman tesserae were reported at this location. If this identification was correct then it suggests that a Roman building might have existed somewhere nearby. Subsequent fieldwalking and metal detecting here in 1984 recovered a medieval pottery sherd and a post medieval coin.
