Full Description
Round barrow on Lingoc Hill, Shropham. Now Linger Hill, approximate grid reference 971 919.
Tumulus with urns and 'place for burning'.
See (S1) (copy in file).
Not visited by R. R. Clarke (NCM).
The sketch map given by (S1) illustrates only the general location of Lingoc Hill in relation to Shropham and is not accurate enough to mark up the barrow sites.
E. Rose (NAU).
No sign of mound on hill. Finds perhaps made in digging large pit here?
A. J. Lawson (NAU) 11 February 1976.
Probably the same site as NHER 29472.
October 2012. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of at least two possible Bronze Age round barrows are visible on aerial photographs in the vicinity, and have been recorded as NHER 29472. They may represent part of a larger barrow cemetery.
E. Ford (NMP), 16 October 2012.
