Summary
The field name 'Hempland' is marked on the 1841 tithe map of Old Buckenham. This may indicate a linen or flax manufacturing site. It has been suggested that this site was used in the 16th century to produce hemp for making ropes for the Navy. The field has not been located on a modern map.
