Summary

In 1887 a hoard of twenty-five to thirty Roman silver coins was found. The coins were discovered in a pot and were buried in around AD 180. In 1989 a Mesolithic or Neolithic flaked axehead roughout was found in the same area.

Hoard of silver coins found in pot - about 25 to 30 coins. Range from Titus to Marcus Aurelius (Lucilla). Concealed about 180 AD.

Known to include coins of Trajan (6), Domitian (2), Faustina I (1), Marcus Aurelius (2), Hadrian (1), Antoninus Pius (1), Faustina II (1), Lucilla (1).
R.R. Clarke (NCM).

Coins also include Vespasian (1), Nerva (1), another Faustina (1) and four unrecorded.

1 chipped flint roughout for axe. Mesolithic/Neolithic type.
