Found on ploughed surface within area known as 'Potter's Close':
Concentration of 19th-century pottery, also Staffordshire combware and salt glaze.
Possibly a dump in an old clay pit?
Pottery donated to Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1975.582).
Compiled by E. Rose (NAU). Information from (S1).
Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 22 November 2018.

January 2011. Geophysical Survey.
Magnetometer survey of part of large proposed development area.
This survey identified an area of strong magnetic readings that roughly coincides with the pottery concentration noted in 1975. This was interpreted as most likely representing an area of dumped industrial waste, supporting the suggestion that the pottery was amongst waste discarded into a former clay pit.
See NHER 63108 for further details.
