Summary

Fieldwalking recovered pieces of medieval and post medieval pot and iron and copper alloy metal working debris. An undated flint wall was also recorded.

1965.
One sherd of 14th century green glazed (with red spots) found on surface of ploughed field. A 6.7m (22 feet) long wall of flint around 46cm (18 inches) wide also found.

1966. Around 320m (350 yards) east of All Saints' Church.
More sherds 13th to 14th century plus piece of bronze found over surface area near wall. Also lots of pieces of iron slag.

30 March 1976 and 2 March 1977. On and around site of building discovered in 1965 .
Context 1.
Informants [1] and [2] found two conjoining sherds of the base of an oxidised cooking pot, slightly micaceous, very poor external yellow glaze, matt glaze inside - late medieval/post medieval.
Context 2.
Late 12th to early 13th century cooking pot rim.
Context 3.
Two medieval coarse ware sherds, one post medieval, two post medieval stoneware, one flint tool, fragment of
mortar in shelly limestone.
All identified by A. Rogerson (NAU).

Farmer told [2] he would grub out the walls in September 1977.
