Summary

In 1914 three Neolithic pottery sherds with Mildenhall style decoration were recovered from a gravel pit near to the Gatehouse public house.

From gravel pit by 'Gatehouse' public house, Dereham Road, Earlham:
Prehistoric pottery sherds.
Donatated to Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1947.215).
Identified at time as Iron Age 'AB' but reidentified as sherds of three Neolithic bowls with Mildenhall style decoration in 1981 by F. Healy (NAU). See drawings (S1)-(S3).
To be Published in CEAS Occasional Paper.
