Summary

Between 1965 and 1990 various Roman objects were recovered from material that had been dredged from the River Tas. These finds include various pottery sherds, glass fragments, a single coin and the handle of a copper alloy key. A potentially Roman lead weight was also found.

1965. Stray Find.
Found at [1], in dredgings from River Tas.
Late 1st to 2nd century greyware, Samian, red and colourcoated ware. Samian sherd decorated in glass technique, form of vessel apparently like (S1) and decoration as (S2) (Rheinzabern). Probably 2nd century. Glass fragments.

May 1990. Fieldwalking and Metal-detecting. Site extended [2].
Found on east bank of River Tas at [3] (probably originally dredgings):
1 Roman coin and 8 pottery sherds (including mortarium, Samian and greyware).
1 ?Roman lead weight.
