4 July 1962.
From field west of Burnham Market County Primary School, square headed copper alloy brooch (2 fragments) thrown up by cultivator into school fences.
Leeds' type A4, compare with example from Market Overton, Rutland.
Probably 6th century, compare with example in (S1).
Retrieved from wire fence at spot about 10m south of hedge junction, northwest of school.

Site examined by R. R. Clarke (NCM) and E. B. Green (NCM) 12 July 1962.
Trial hole revealed soil over light brown loam with chalk fragments.
Field had been ploughed to a depth of 35cm.
