1885 or before. Stray Find.
The Ashmolean Museum holds a Palaeolithic flint flake from "Downham, Norfolk" (1885.6, ex Rev. P. Wyatt). Presumably Downham Market.
Information from (S1), which lists this as a Levallois flake. The object was however not seen.
It should be noted that the museum's current records suggest that this object was indeed from Downham Market. The object is also listed simply as a Lower Palaeolithic flake.
E. Rose (NAU) and A. Lawson (NAU), 3 November 1982. Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 10 January 2015.
