Summary

In 1963 fragments of gold and silver were found in a borehole dug at a location between Walpole St Peter and Tydd. A Professor at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, related these objects to King John’s Treasure.

In fact this work was carried out in 1963 and was stated to be under a causeway in the reclaimed area of the Wash. (S3) connects this with earlier work which took place between Walpole St Peter and Tydd and may therefore not be in Norfolk.
