Full Description
Early 1988 (?). 'In a 30ft borehole between King's Lynn and Wisbech. Fragments of gold and silver'.
Related to King John's Treasure by Professor J. Holt, Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge.
No details yet known, see (S1).
Objects found to be undatable (S2).
E. Rose (NAU) 7 June 1988 and 1 November 1988.
Press cuttings (S1) and (S2) in file.
In fact this work was carried out in 1963 and was stated to be under a causeway in the reclaimed area of the Wash. (S3) connects this with earlier work which took place between Walpole St Peter and Tydd and may therefore not be in Norfolk.
Copy in file.
E. Rose (NLA) 20 October 1999.
