About 1968. Stray Find.
Half of a stone macehead was found in this field while working on a farm southwest of Bintree.
Petrology No. N305. This object has been assigned a broad date range suggesting it was most likely a pebble mace, unmodified apart from its central perforation. Implements of this type are not closely datable, examples having been found in both Mesolithic and later prehistoric contexts.
This find was reported in (S1). See drawing at NCM (copy not currently held by HES).
