Full Description
1991. Metal detecting.
An Early to Middle Bronze Age flanged chisel was found in a flower bed in the back garden of a new house. The chisel possesses a stop ridge and is therefore later in date than a similar example from Swaffham (S1). The stop ridge is more a straight line, there is a slight thickening of the blade, and the cutting edge is damaged. The land on which it was found was formerly a water meadows.
