Summary

Metal detecting at this site has recovered a variety of finds and is particularly rich in Roman and Early Saxon objects. This is the site of a possible Roman settlement site and Early Saxon cemetery.

Bow and uppermost part of foot of Early Saxon cruciform brooch, traces of gilding, part of lappets surviving, circular sunken field in centre of bow, remains of catchplate on reverse. All breaks ancient. Probably Group V. See (S1).
