Summary

A wide range metal finds have been recovered here by metal detecting. Highlights include a Late Iron Age coin, part of a Roman spoon, many Early Saxon fragments of brooches and other personal ornaments and a medieval cauldron foot. The Early Saxon metal finds would suggest the site is an Early Saxon cremation cemetery, but the absence of Early Saxon pottery from the site makes this unlikely. It may be an Early Saxon metalworking site.
