Summary

Metal detecting recovered a wide range of finds dating from the prehistoric to the post medieval period. These include a Neolithic flint scraper, a Roman Dolphin brooch, a medieval two piece strap end and a post medieval bar mount with fleur-de-lis decoration. Roman and medieval coins were also found.

Undated? Or post medieval lead weight, cast, originally circular, now cut in half along centre of two arms of cross with slightly expanded ends, pellet between each arm, flange around edge, weighs 7.01g, 0.25 oz.

July/August 2003. Metal detecting.
Medieval copper alloy gilt spur buckle, integral bevelled plate, oval frame, broken across perforation for missing pin, small knop on both sides at junction with integral tapering plate, pierced square lobed terminal with broken projecting hook, traces of engraved rocker-arm decoration covering face of plate containing gilding and now standing proud of decayed surface, 50 (at least) x 14mm. 13th to 14th century.
