Full Description
Norfolk NMP. June 2003.
There is a World War Two pillbox clearly visible to the immediate north of the church. It can be seen on RAF 1941 (S1) and 1946 (S2) aerial photographs. The pillbox appears to be a type 24 from the aerial photographs and is located at TG1745 4310.
On more recent aerial photographs this pillbox appears to no longer survive - see Ordnance Survey 1994 images (S3).
H. Clare (NMP) 24 September 2003.
December 2004. Norfolk Rapid Coastal Zone Archaeological Survey.
Land-based survey; Area A13, Context 17:
Section of brick wall built in to Beeston Regis churchyard wall. Found at TG 17443 43106, it is probably the remains of a Second World War pillbox.
See assessment report (S4) for further details.
The associated archive has been deposited with the Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2017.421).
A. Cattermole (NLA), 6 December 2007. Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 21 July 2019.
