Summary

A 17th century farmhouse with substantial later alterations. An L-shaped pond to the northeast of the house could be the remains of a moat.

July 1983. Listed, Grade II.
Listing Description:
17th century and later house, much rebuilt. Colourwashed brick, pantile roof hipped to southeast. L plan. 2 storeys. Parapet gables, 19th to 20th century windows but west gable has large dripmoulded windows. Central stack to east wing; door opposite stack in south range in splayed internal angle. Some blocked openings.
Information from (S1).

Ordnance Survey map shows a pond paralleling the two ranges of the house but some distance to the northeast. Could this be a moat?

(S2) in file states that the building stand son the “site of the old moot house for the village”. What is meant by this is not clear – could it be a misunderstanding of moat?
