Full Description

Crow's Wood, King's Lynn. Moat.

September 1979. Visit.
Ditches very wide and shallow. Not waterfilled but very boggy. Raised island, rectangular. Causeway on west. West of west side is a parallel ditch.

March 1991.
Moat lies about 750m southwest of Bawsey Church. Site form (S2) in file.

1994. Scheduled, including a dry external compartment on northeast, and a 2m berm around monument.

1995. Earthwork Survey.
Survey at 1:1000. Moated site with smaller attached enclosure to northeast. Other linear features may represent fragments of associated enclosures, but certainly represent enclosures functioning into early 19th century.
