Summary

Metal detecting and fieldwalking has recovered large amounts of Roman material including coins, brooches, building material and fragments of pottery. The large number of finds suggests that this is an area of Roman settlement, probably part of the larger Brettenham Roman settlement (NHER 5653). This is supported by the discovery of a number of Roman features in the vicinty of this location (see NHER 68622). Saxon, medieval and post medieval finds have also been recovered.
