Summary

A trench dug in 1965 uncovered human skeletal remains, probably from part of the medieval cemetery of the church of St George, Tombland. A few ox bones and three pieces of post medieval pottery were also found.

Trench dug on northwest side of churchyard south of alley about 6m (20 feet) long and 1m to 1.2m (3 to 4 feet) deep.
This was cut into the raised area of the old graveyard of St George Tombland. The trench contained a few ox bones and human bones.
Three pieces of post medieval pottery.
Human skeletal remains are probably from the cemetery of St George Tombland.
No direct dating evidence.
