Summary

The former use of this property is unknown but it is now a public house. It dates to the 16th century and was altered in the 18th century and extended in the 19th century. It is made from rough cast with pantile roofing. The building has a simple pub front with plain pilasters and fascia.

16th century altered in the 18th century.
19th century extension along Market Avenue. Rough cast with pantile roof. Corner site.
Farmers Avenue elevation: three storeys, two bays. Central door. Fascia cornice.
Market Avenue elevation: two storeys, three widely spaced first floor windows plus one bay in Farmers Avenue.
Simple pub front with plain pilasters and fascia. One sash window with glazing bars and two casement windows. Hipped roof.

One tiny body sherd (about 12th century) found in basement (probably 1.8m (6ft) depth) too dark and difficult to see section where found.
