Summary

A fairly concentrated spread of pot boilers recorded by the Fenland Survey. This has been interpreted as the site of a possible prehistoric burnt mound.

9 March 1987. Fenland fieldwalking.
Between River Nar and drain.
Well weathered soil, young cereal. Soil is a stoney sand loam.
Concentration of pot boilers, sparse but locally moderate and even abundant, on top and around slope of ridge projecting from island. 52m northwest to southeast by 20m northeast to southwest at 2.4m OD.

This concentration has been interpreted as a possible prehistoric burnt mound.
The site may be related to the recovery of a prehistoric flake and pot boiler a short distance to the west, recorded as NHER 35614.
