Summary

In 1971 the floor level of this property was lowered by 30cm. This work uncovered Saxon and medieval pottery sherds, animal bones and wasters presumably from a nearby kiln. In addition, part of a medieval undercroft was reported to lie underneath this building.

Sherds and animal bones from basement along edge of Bedford Street.
?Wasters from nearby kiln.
Near complete cream coloured jug from debris in cellar.
Finds held by NCM.

One side chamber under building chamber with a pointed barrel-vault profile in the west wall - informant.
