Summary

In 1975 the construction of the underpass for the inner link road at this location unearthed a selection of multi period pottery sherds and a piece of a medieval stone window.

1975. Construction of underpass for the inner link road. It was dug from inside the city wall to the west pavement of Chapelfield Road. There was no trace seen in section of the defence ditch. The excavation cut through modern fill.
Late Saxon, medieval and post medieval pottery (including ?piece of Delft biscuit). Piece of stone window mullion.
Finds held by NCM.
