Summary

This former shop is now a set of offices with an associated 15th century undercroft. The former shop dates to the 16th century but was heightened in the 18th century. It is a timber-framed building infilled with masonry and with a rendered exterior. The brick undercroft is beneath the rear range and at right angles to the street line. The undercroft is one of an important group within the city.

Listing Description exerpt:
"Former shop, now offices with 15th century undercroft.
Former shop:- 16th century, heightened in the 18th century. Masonry rear ground floor wall and rendered timber frame. Brick rear block."
"Undercroft:- Brick. Beneath rear range and at right angles to the street line. Pointed barrel-vault profile with single order diagonal."

1970s or 1980s. Building Survey.
Building examined as part of Norwich Survey.
Three-storey block dating from the 16th/19th century. Top floor a recent raising of a two-storey block. Jettied first floor. Elements of 16th-century shop front survive on the exterior of the ground floor (the interior of which has been gutted). Various features dating to c. 1500 on first floor. Rear range gutted.
