Summary

In 1977 construction work to extend the present building found no evidence of any building, although there were traces of gravel yard surfaces at the north end of this area, which may date to the post medieval period.

1977. Construction of extension at rear of present building, fronting the river.
The foundation trenches cut through around 1.5m of ?makeup.
There was no evidence for any buildings, though there were traces of gravel yard surfaces at the north end.
No dateable material but from the type of brick inclusions probably late post medieval.
No finds.
