Full Description
1960.
Inhumation cemetery oriented with skulls to west found at depth of 45cm (1 foot 6 inches) in loam overlying chalk while digging trenches for house foundations.
Remains of about six burials disturbed. One photographed in situ.
1962.
Site discovered 1960 when new house built.
Burials also found 1962 on north and east side of number 5.
Skull from one (?found in garden of number 5 or number 7 or extending into both).
Taken to dental department of West Norwich Hospital where identified as young female, then disposed of.
Bodies under 30 to 45cm (12 to 18 inches) of soil, overlying chalk. Graves just cut 5cm (2 inches) into chalk.
1978.
Garden of 5 Galley Hill near junction with Drayton Road.
Remains of two human burials, head to the west. Parts of bodies extending into garden of number 3 Galley Hill. No finds.
