October 2002. Norfolk NMP.
The feature is elongated with sub-rounded ends (S1) and has a north to south length 165m and a width of 60m. The mound is situated within a junction of marsh channels, as depicted on the second edition Ordnance Survey (S2).
This feature forms part of a dense concentration of saltern mounds located along the saltmarsh in North and South Wootton. Direct dating evidence is scarce but isolated finds of pottery would suggest that the majority of the mounds are medieval in date.
