SNF10386 (Vertical Aerial Photograph) - Norfolk Air Photo Library: RAF National Air Survey Vertical Collection

This collection consists of over 8,000 vertical photographs of Norfolk taken by the RAF as part of the National Air Survey. The survey was undertaken between 1944 and 1950 but the majority of the images in the collection date to 1946. The photographs were taken at a scale of approximately 1:10,560 or six-inches to one-mile and overlap to provide stereoscopic viewing. The collection provides almost complete coverage of the county and selected images were used to form the digital map available for consultation on the Norfolk Historic Maps website http://www.historic-maps.norfolk.gov.uk.
