Full Description
August 2001. Norfolk NMP.
The bank is visible running southwards from the end of sea bank NHER 26617 at Shepherds Port, to a junction with bank NHER 26636 (S1), essentially joining two previously existing elements of coastal bank together. The feature has a recorded length of 950m. The feature was probably constructed between 1794 and 1820 (S2 and S3), effectively protecting the northern area of Snettisham Marsh Common from tidal intrusion.
M. Brennand (NMP), 9 August 2001.
