Summary

A series of mounds and hollows were identified during the Coastal Survey conducted by the NAU in 2004. These may indicate the site of a possible brickworks or salt works, although it is possible that they are the result of infilling of former channels and/or dredging.

Land-based survey; Area A71, Context 1:
A series of mounds and hollows were identified between TG 02866 44486 and TG 02862 44385. These may indicate saltworking or brickmaking, although it seems more probable that these are the result of infilling of former channels and/or dredging. The area is labelled Brick Marsh and Bank Marsh on a map of 1769.
