Full Description
April 2002. Norfolk NMP.
A bank or possible roadway is visible running from TF 6959 3592 to TF 6948 3624 on 1946 RAF aerial photographs (S1). It follows the Heacham/Sedgeford parish boundary and may represent an established route between the two parishes. It is also worth noting that to the immediate south of the possible road at TF 6961 3575 is Limekiln Plantation on the 2nd edition map (1902-7, 6”) (S2), with associated quarrying and limehouses, site (26825) possibly being one such building. It is possible that this road is compacted trackway is associated with this industrial site. A broad linear is marked along this route on the 1623 Map of Heacham Manor (S3). It is not entirely clear from the map but it appears to be a fairly substantial route or trackway.
