Full Description
1960. Found during excavations for foundations for new library.
Early medieval pottery sherds and a clay spindle whorl.
Finds held by NCM.

The building itself is an important example of 1960s architecture, formed of concrete and flint panels on a steel frame around a courtyard and incorporating the American Memorial Library. It was under consideration for addition to the list of buildings of historic interest when it was severely damaged by fire in August 1994.
