Summary

Relocated diesel pumping station containing two preserved Ruston oil engines powering Gwynnes centrifugal pumps. The installation was built further downriver 1940-41 and housed in a steel clad building erected by Barnes and Pye. The engines worked until 1984 when they were replaced by a new automatic electric pump. In 2003, the whole installation was rebuilt upriver as part of a Flood Alleviation project.

The installation was built further downriver (TG 447036) in 1940-41 and housed in a green painted steel clad building erected by Barnes and Pye. The engines worked until 1984 when they were replaced by a new automatic electric pump. In 2003, the whole installation was rebuilt upriver as part of a Flood Alleviation project. The building was subsequently re-clad and is no longer painted green.
