Map

November 2017. 'Brecks from Above' and Breckland National Mapping Programme.
An extensive spread of disturbed ground, recent earthworks and small structures, visible on 1940s aerial photographs (S1 and S2, for example), may indicate Second World War military activity, such as training, taking place in the vicinity of Fison's fertiliser factory (NHER 6531). It has been mapped only be extent. Some of the disturbed ground was originally recorded as part of that site. A second area of possible military activity is visible to the north of the railway line (NHER 62117). The military nature of the activity is not certain; it could instead relate to work being undertaken at the factory, or other, non-military activity taking place in the area. It is not known whether any parts of the site still survive.
