Map

These two stone arches dating from the 14th century are thought to have been moved to this location in the early 20th century from a medieval house on Ferry Street (NHER 1161). They stand adjacent to three similar arches (NHER 64024) which are listed Grade II. These two additional arches are shown on a photograph in (S1) further to the east on the same ruined wall as the triple arches. NHER 1161 suggests that the medieval building to which these arches belong was demolished in 1908. It seems likely that they were rebuilt in Tower Gardens in or around 1911 when the garden was laid out.
