Summary

Nos 125, 125A and 127 are part of a single 16th century house which has been subject to extensive rebuilding in 1983-1984. The upper storey is timber-framed, with herringbone nogging, and a pantile roof. During alterations in 1955 a medieval well containing an iron knife, a stone architectural fragment and some Late Saxon and medieval pottery sherds were recovered. At the moment the building stands derelict, after serving as an electrical showroom, however continuing regeneration along King Street is bringing hope that this interesting building will be restored. Further details available under NHER 26536.
