Full Description
February 1986. Excavation by NAU of exploratory holes.
Excavated by B. Ayers and M. Heaton (NAU).
Clay pipe fragment. Westerwald fragment.
The archive associated with this work was deposited with the Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1999.304).
W. Milligan (NCM). Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 27 April 2019.
Newspaper cutting in file dated 11 April 1986 but source not noted (EEN?) states further NAU excavations at that time revealed layers down to the 11th century including a 'tip full of medieval domestic rubbish'.
No NAU report received for this work by 1999 and apparently no record at Garsett House.
Compiled by E. Rose 10 June 1999.
