Summary

The earthworks and outline of a moat can be seen on aerial photographs of this site from 1993. This is thought to be at the centre of a medieval deer park (NHER 52767), possibly a hunting lodge and manor house for the D'Albinis. The ruins of Lower Park Farm can also be seen here.

(S1) however stated that Silfield Park is based on a small castle taken out of the common waste. (S1) also states that this was a slip of the tongue for New Buckenham park.

The remains of this moated site were visible on aerial photographs assessed as part of the NMP mapping, for example (S3), but as no detail additional to that provided by the modern Ordnance Survey mapping was identified, no mapping was undertaken of the site.
