Construction of new office block over the gardens of 'King Street House'.
On north side of the site and running east-to-west were the foundations of a substantial flint rubble wall 'descending at least 2.75m (9 feet)' {1}.
This was thought to be the south wall of St Cuthbert's Church (NHER 398).
Fragments of human bone from garden probably from churchyard of St Cuthbert's.

July 2024. Casual Observation.
Human skeletal remains disturbed during replacement of exisiting service pipe within basement area.
Analysis of the three bones retrieved suggests they represent the remains of at least two individual - a ?female adult and a child aged between 6 and 12 years. The condition of the bones is entirely consistent with them having been derived from burials within the churchyard of St Cuthbert's church.
